Precious people of mettle have always found their way to The Banyan as supporters...
Right from the days that our staff Gopi won the Gold Coin on Anupam Kher's hit TV show to this Akshaya Trithya on 20th April 2007 when Ms. Rama Lakshmi generously gifted The Banyan a half-sovereign gold earring set.
All of this is tucked away in our safe for the financial disaster that we hope will never come!
Anu was the natural choice for the lucky recipient of the diamond pendant offered to 'Women with Sparkle' by Radio 1 on International Womens Day 2007.

What's Anu been up to at The Banyan:
Anu has been at The Banyan for the past eight years - her parents expired and she had nobody to take care of her. She had a bout of mental illness and her aunt's son-in- law ( Anu does not even remember their names ) left her at The Banyan.
Initially, she was doing block printing at The Banyan, taught by Shashi, who was in charge of Vocational Training. She wanted to focus on block printing, as her skill, so she was sent to Kalakshetra for a month-long training. Post the training she received The Banyan's coveted "GET WELL STAY WELL" award.
She started practicing the new techniques, she now has complete independence in deciding the color, block designs. she feels good and happy about what she is doing and is very possessive about her block printing table!

Tomato rice. (But not Mayamma's)

Azhagu malar ada

Not very keen, does not remember names
