Resource Centre
– sharing skills, sharing ideas
To date, mental health and homelessness have not been recognized as important issues of concern in the socio-political fabric of India. The Banyan, however, believes that any lasting change in the mental health care sector can be made possible through building a nationwide network of individuals and organisations, and by making knowledge on mental health care free and accessible to all. The Banyan's Resource Centre shares The Banyan experience, organising exchange programmes and handholding exercises with prospective partners. The Resource Centre is currently interacting with 4 partner NGOs to replicate The Banyan model in different parts of the country. The Centre also conducts research and advocacy in the field, aiming to maximize impact in the sector in minimum time. Through its work, the Resource Centre seeks to identify, establish and advocate the best practices in the sector in terms of mental health care, the provision of services, rehabilitation and campaigning for rights for the homeless mentally ill.'
